Hey guys i hope you all are fine!,
You should participate in google code-in don't know what is google code-in?
let me explain!
Google Code-in
Google Code-in is a contest sponsored by Google to encourage pre-university students to know about open-source Projects and helps them contribute actively in such Projects. This year, the contest started on 28th November 2016, and will go on till 16th January 2017. It was announced around 10th October.
Because Google Code-in is often the first experience many students have with open source, the contest is designed to make it easy for students to jump right in. Open source organizations chosen by Google provide a list of tasks for students to work on during the seven week contest period. A unique part of the contest is that each task has mentors from the organization assigned should students have questions or need help along the way.
Students choose tasks they wish to work on from the following categories: coding, documentation, training, outreach, research, quality assurance and user interface. Students earn prizes for their successful completion of the tasks.
Stay tuned to the Google Open Source Blog for updates. To ask questions and learn from other students and mentors you can join the discussion list.
Students:
Upon successful completion of tasks, eligible students can earn prizes (digital certificates, t-shirts, hoodies) and grand prize winners will receive a trip to Google’s headquarters in Mountain View, California for themselves and a parent or legal guardian for 4 nights in June 2017.
More info about me:
Hi, I am Sanchit. I am a student, a researcher in robotics, a web developer, a drone specialist and a hardcore tech enthusiast. I love to tinker around with prototyping platforms and research on new technologies. As a child i wanted to be a pilot but later I found out my interest in robotics, research and development (R&D). I always like to help people as much as possible.
Why i joined google code-in?
i joined google code-in with only a main motive to learn about open source , open source technologies etc. At first i was quite unsure what organisation i should join but seeing my friends who went to Google summer code in 'Fossasia' i too became curious to check it. At first i didn't expect much from this organisation but after doing their tasks i feel i am confident enough to say i am definitely learning about open source. So far it has been a great experience but i am craving for more and could not sit idle :P. FOSSASIA is a great organisation, you should join it too :) .
